INSPIRED GARDEN DESIGN

We founded Creative Nature in 2024 and have successfully completed a variety of garden projects, from comprehensive redesigns to updates of planted beds. We collaborate with hard landscapers, architects, new gardeners and families that are eager to enhance and enjoy their outdoor spaces.

From coastal and courtyards through to suburban gardens and large estates - at Creative Nature we are passionate about them all.

Our ethos:

We know outside spaces are important to promote relaxation and wellbeing, that’s why we aim to design and deliver gardens that can be enjoyed all year long.

We have extensive experience in horticulture and garden design and pride ourselves towards giving every client the garden they desire, whilst also working on building the health of your soil. Our aim is to incorporate any appreciated existing plants in new schemes and we only select quality new plants to ensure your garden flourishes and evolves alongside you.

Considerations towards increasing native wildlife and reducing impact on our environment is crucial to promote biodiversity. We believe that selecting correct plant choices for your garden and conditions will result in reduced chemical reliance, less garden maintenance and in return you are rewarded with providing a harmonious ecosystem.

Let us bring your vision to life with innovative ideas and sustainable solutions.

JOBS THIS

SPRING

Early Spring is a great time to do those important jobs before new leaves emerge.

  1. Roses: Finish pruning roses before the end of March and before leaf buds have opened. Bare rooted roses are available to plant into unfrozen soil.

  2. Hard Pruning: To promote vigorous new growth to plants like Paulownia, Willows, Dogwoods and Cotinus - you can cut some species of these back hard to promote this years new growth.

  3. Alpines: As alpines start to flower, remove any detritus and consider adding a dressing layer of grit or gravel to keep foliage clean and off wet soil.

  4. Bird Feeding: Continue feeding birds and use a variety of seeds, suet, and mealworms to cover all requirements in cold weather. Soon enough the young aphids will provide valuable food for baby sparrows.

  5. Planting: Plant climbers, shrubs and summer flowering bulbs in pots and borders.

Sow wildflowers and relevant vegetables and herbs into trays or modules for growing on later.

  6. Other Care: Remove newly emerging weeds as it is much easier to do when plants are young.

Check tender shoots for aphids and remove infestations by hand and avoiding use of pesticides.

Feed some flowering ericaceous shrubs like Camellias and Rhododendrons with an ericaceous fertiliser.

Mulch beds and borders with well rotted organic matter or garden compost for additional vitality and to help suppress weeds.

Deadhead spring flowers or winter bedding plants if you do not want them to self seed or set seed.
